Davy's Story

Davy Van Den Brink has been riding with Southland Group RDA for three years, and over this time has progressed into a confident and able Rider.

Southland Group RDA Operations Manager, Ruth Clark, says that the improvement in Davy’s abilities and demeanour have been noticed by the Staff and Volunteers.

“In addition to his riding abilities, Davy has come a long way with his confidence and his communication skills, which both transfer well into other aspects of his daily life.”

This year has been a particularly successful one for Davy, as he has learnt to ride independently. He can now ride unassisted and use the reins to steer his Horse, which has provided another confidence boost to this young Rider.

Davy’s family has recently made the decision to move to the North Island, with his last Riding day at Southland Group RDA on Tuesday 3rd December.

Ruth says that Davy will be greatly missed by everyone at the Group.

“We wish Davy and his family all the best and hope that he’ll continue riding in the future.”
