Brittany, Volunteer at North Canterbury Group RDA
In 2014, New Zealand Riding for the Disabled awarded the Young Volunteer of the Year Award to Brittany Overend from North Canterbury Group RDA.
This is the first time this Award has been presented and it is to recognise those people under 25 who contribute so much to RDAs across NZ.
Brittany is described as being a role model within the Group for the other teenage Volunteers with her trustworthy and reliable nature and her abilities as a competent horse woman. She endears herself to all the Riders and is always happy to perform all the tasks when requested.
She displays initiative and maturity and works to assist all of the Riders and has recently designed a programme for one of the Groups more disabled riders to give him the challenge that he needs to take the next step in his individual programme.
Her relationship with the Group is valued by all concerned and if we are able to retain her as one of our future RDA Coaches she will be of great value to the organisation.
