Janene, Volunteer at Richmond Group RDA
Recently NZRDA was honoured to present the Tom Atchison Volunteer of the Year Award to Janene Bastin from Richmond Group RDA, the highest Award given out to any Volunteer in an RDA setting.
Named after the Founder of Riding for the Disabled in New Zealand, Mr Tom Atchison, the Volunteer of the Year Award recognises the qualities of a Volunteer who goes far further than anyone could reasonably expect.
Janene is a remarkable and talented Volunteer, who has been involved with Richmond Group RDA for the past seven years. A true jack-of all trades, she is not only the Riders representative but a valued committee member who also helps look after the Horses.
Her creative talents have helped her to make many therapy tools on her sewing machine, along with the repairing of countless horse covers and the making of adaptive equipment for Riders. Janine is also well-known for the wonderful games she constructs for the Riders as part of their therapeutic riding sessions.
A huge congratulations to Janene and the Richmond Group RDA.
