Stew Rides Again

December 7, 2023

Stew is a Wellington based “runner”. He uses inverted commas because he’s a wheelchair user. Stew is undertaking a challenge to raise funds for NZRDA. Thank you Stew!

Here’s what Stew has to say about his challenge.

“Growing up with my disability, one of the things that I used to look forward to was the hour or two that I could go to RDA or New Zealand Riding for the Disabled. I’d get to ride horses as a form of therapy – although I didn’t realise that at the time.

I believe that those riding lessons have been a huge benefit to me as I’ve grown older. Things like building core strength enabling me to sit, balance and just all-around confidence. To name but a few.

That is why I decided to give back to this great organisation that we so beneficial to me growing up.

In March 2024 next year, I am planning to “run” 100 kilometres in my chair to raise funds for NZRDA.”
